Iceland's Straumur says cancels Landsbanki deal

Iceland's Straumur-Burdaras said on Friday it was cancelling a planned purchase of the majority Landsbanki's overseas corporate finance and brokerage business for 380 million euros (306.8 million pounds).

Germany working on UK-style rescue plan

The German government is working on a British-style rescue plan for its financial sector which could involve guarantees of over 100 billion euros (80.5 billion pounds) and a large capital injection, a paper reported.
