Recession in Europe is good news for Irish low-fares airline Ryanair, its chief executive Michael O'Leary says in an interview to appear in Germany on Monday.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Sunday he expected Saudi Arabia to pump money into the International Monetary Fund, the latest salvo in an ongoing effort to contain the global financial crisis that is also expected to bring a new round of rate cuts this week.

New Alitalia up and flying by Dec 1: administrator

The relaunched Alitalia should be operational by December 1 when its foreign partner will have been chosen, the administrator for the CAI group that is taking over the Italian flag carrier said.
