McCanns to address MEPs in Brussels
Kate and Gerry McCann have set off for Brussels hoping to persuade MEPs to introduce a Europe-wide alert system they believe could prevent other children going missing like their daughter Madeleine. As Portuguese detectives continued to attend interviews with friends of the McCanns in Leicestershire, the couple set off for the Belgian capital ahead of a key meeting at the European Parliament.

Al-Fayed says accepts Diana verdict
The father of Dodi al-Fayed, killed in a Paris car crash with Princess Diana in 1997, said on Tuesday he accepted the verdict of an inquest jury and was giving up his legal attempts to show the couple were murdered. "Enough is enough," a teary-eyed Harrods store owner Mohamed al-Fayed said in an interview with ITV's "News at Ten", saying he was abandoning his legal battle for the sake of Diana's sons, Princes William and Harry.

Stormtrooper incourt for Star Wars legal fight
A judge in a wig and gown gazed down on a Stormtrooper costume and nine masks from the "Star Wars" films at London's High Court on Tuesday at the start of a high-profile copyright case. George Lucas, creator of the blockbuster intergalactic sagas, and his billion-dollar merchandising arm are suing Andrew Ainsworth, a small-scale prop designer who sells replicas of the film characters from his southwest London studio.

UK pedophiles told to hand over email addresses
Registered child sex offenders will have to provide their email addresses to police in a move to stop them using social networking Web sites, the Home Office announced on Friday. Police will pass the addresses on to the sites which will then be expected to monitor usage or stop offenders logging on. Sex offenders will face up to five years in prison if they fail to hand over the details or provide a false email.

War Vet Jailed Over Family Execution
A Gulf War veteran who executed four members of his family has been sentenced to at least 15 years in jail.
Cannabis-smoking loner David Bradley, 43, shot his uncle, aunt and two cousins at close range with a silenced 7.65mm handgun. He had smuggled the weapon into the UK from Bosnia while serving in the Army.
