Government approves nuclear power plans
The Government has given the go-ahead to a new generation of nuclear power stations.

Hain didn't declare £100k donations
Cabinet minister Peter Hain has provided the Electoral Commission with details of donations to his Labour deputy leadership campaign which he previously failed to declare - they amounted to £103,156.75.

Renowned businessman Harvey-Jones dies
Former ICI chairman and renowned businessman Sir John Harvey-Jones has died after a long illness.

Britain backs Kenya role for Annan
Foreign Secretary David Miliband offered "full support" Thursday for the involvement of former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan in helping to resolve the crisis in Kenya.

Govt approves new nuclear reactors, to Green fury
The government approved Thursday a new generation of nuclear power stations, describing the move as "compelling" but infuriating environmentalists who are considering a legal challenge.
