Le Parti Communiste d'Inde (Marxiste) de Bengale Occidental (qu'il a longtemps dirigé) s'est organisé pour venir en aide aux gens face à la pandémie de coronavirus.
A Kolkata, la capitale de l'état du West-Bengal, les communistes organisent des marchés fermiers avec des légumes gratuits pour celles et ceux qui en ont besoin, ouvert à toutes et tous.

Ces groupes de militant.e.s quadrillent le territoire bengali et organise la solidarité, la distribution de nourriture et des restaurants. A la fois dans les régions reculées comme dans la capitale Kolkata.

Malgré son affaiblissement, le CPI(M) a démontré sa capacité à remobiliser ses forces face à l'urgence. Les "red volunteers" ont été une fois de plus l'avant garde du Parti communiste.
