Art exhibition at Maltese Embassy in Paris
On Thursday 8th December, Malta Ambassador to France, Mark. A. Miggiani and his wife Caroline hosted an exhibition of Maltese artists, Anna Galea and Celia Borg Cardona. This exhibition held at the new premises of the Maltese Embassy in Paris was very well attended by members of the diplomatic corps, French artists and art lovers together with members of the Maltese community in France. President makes call for public forum to discuss Constitutional reform
President George Abela has expressed his wish to preside over a wide representation of society that will discuss Constitutional reform, and to get both sides of the House to resume meeting in the Select Committee for the Strengthening of Democracy, in a bid to reach agreement on "necessary" constitutional reforms. Abela was delivering his speech on Republic Day during the conferral of the national honours, where he called for the creation of public forum within the next six months to discuss which constitutional reforms may be necessary. PN gets hundreds of thousands of euros from ‘JS list’ of contractors awarded public contracts
Today during the fund raising marathon organised by the PN and transmitted live on NET TV, the amount of money collected from companies and individuals awarded public contracts is being announced together witht he amount of other funds collected from party supporters. But no names are being mentioned and the source of the money is not being mentioned. Most of this money was collected last Wednesday when on the eve of the EU summit to deal with the euro zone crisis Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was at the PN Headquarters at Tal-Pieta` meeting PN donors. Industrial production up slightly
Provisional data shows that industrial production increased by 0.6% in October over the corresponding month last year. The increase was driven by capital goods which advanced by 12%. Intermediate goods and energy rose by 0.3 and 1.4% respectively. On the other hand, consumer goods fell by 3.1%. (independent.com.mt)
