Giuliani seeks votes one plate at a time:

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Heavy on the calories, light on the substance and garnished with a touch of rhetoric — that's how Rudy Giuliani prefers to campaign when he's on the road.
Mostly shunning the policy-laden town hall settings favored by many of his rivals, the former New York mayor and Republican presidential candidate has opted instead to drop by popular eateries

Mich. governor guards transgender rights:

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Jennifer Granholm has issued an order that bars discrimination against state workers based on their "gender identity or expression," which protects the rights of those who behave, dress or identify as members of the opposite sex.

Many Americans Can't Afford to Eat Right:

THURSDAY, Nov. 22 (HealthDay News) -- In this land and season of plenty, low-income and rural Americans continue to have difficulty finding healthy foods that are affordable, a new study finds.
One study shows that low-income Americans now would have to spend up to 70 percent of their food budget on fruits and vegetables to meet new national dietary guidelines for healthy eating.

Balmy weather for NY Thanksgiving parade:

NEW YORK - Delighted, shrieking children were barely able to contain themselves Thursday as Barbie rolled past and enormous Shrek and Snoopy balloons floated overhead in the traditional Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Unseasonably balmy weather, with temperatures around 60 degrees, helped draw hordes of families to the parade route to see the floats, helium balloons, marching bands and roller-blading clowns.

Holloway's father to search for body:

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - The father of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway will relaunch a search for evidence of her remains in waters off Aruba, he said Thursday after police re-arrested three suspects in her 2005 disappearance.

While authorities searched the sea to depths of 330 feet, Dave Holloway told The Associated Press that he believes his 18-year-old daughter was thrown into deeper waters — a belief based on talks with a police official and a private forensic expert.
