White House defends response on CIA tapes
The White House on Wednesday defended its response to disclosures about the CIA's destruction of videotapes that showed harsh interrogations of two terrorism suspects.
The New York Times reported that at least four White House lawyers participated in discussions with the CIA between 2003 and 2005 about whether the tapes should be destroyed.

Huckabee counts on pastors for Iowa help
Republican Mike Huckabee, the former Baptist preacher, is depending on more than a leap of faith to win the Iowa caucuses.
Leading in polls, Huckabee is determined to make up for his skimpy organization in the state by enlisting national evangelical Christian supporters to rev up Iowa pastors and coax voters to the Jan. 3 caucuses.

Congressman's Brother Found Dead
Perry Kucinich, brother of Rep. Dennis Kucinich, was found dead Wednesday morning at his east-side home.
Perry Kucinich was found by another brother, Larry Kucinich, at about 9 a.m. The county coroner said that an autopsy is set to be performed to determine the exact cause of death. There were no signs of foul play.
Rep. Kucinich is in Washington, D.C. and his spokesman said he is on his way home to Cleveland.

Giuliani's in Florida, but will that strategy work?
The former mayor of New York has been spending a lot of time in Florida, his first must-win state. And where would you rather be this time of year -- Iowa or Florida?
Giuliani's still the national front-runner, according to the most recent national survey -- a Gallup poll out Tuesday. Four other candidates -- former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, former Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney -- are essentially tied for second.

Clinton regains lead in New Hampshire voter poll
Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton regained her lead over key rival Barack Obama in New Hampshire, where nomination voting in three weeks will shape the 2008 U.S. election race, a poll showed on Wednesday.
Clinton, a New York senator who spent the weekend campaigning in the wintry New England state, had the support of 38 percent of likely Democratic primary voters, compared with 26 percent for Obama, an Illinois senator, the CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary Poll found.
