A Weekend of Skirmishing for Obama and Clinton
Senator Barack Obama kept on the attack against Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, accusing her of running a “poll-driven campaign” that avoided tough questions. He said on Sunday that he would increase the amount of income subject to Social Security taxes.
His remarks capped a weekend in which the leading Democratic contenders spoke to thousands of Democrats at the annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner here Saturday night, where Mrs. Clinton suggested that Mr. Obama did not have the experience to be president.

Thompson to be endorsed by Right to Life
Fred Thompson will be endorsed for president by the National Right to Life Committee, Republicans say.
The endorsement by the prominent anti-abortion group could give a boost to the campaign of the Republican former Tennessee senator, who has seen his poll numbers drop in recent weeks and has failed to become the consensus candidate for conservatives.
The decision was disclosed Monday by two Republicans who spoke on condition of anonymity in advance of the announcement that was expected Tuesday.

Edwards unveils plan for vets with PTSD
Presidential contender John Edwards is introducing a $400 million plan Monday to help veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, including those recently returned from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Under Edwards' plan, veterans could seek counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder outside the Veterans Health Administration system; the number of counselors would increase; and family members would be employed to identify cases of PTSD.

Pope to visit US, including ground zero
Pope Benedict XVI will travel to the United States for the first time as pontiff next year to meet with President Bush, address the United Nations and visit ground zero, a Vatican official told American bishops Monday.
Benedict will visit only Washington and New York during his April 15-20 trip, despite invitations from bishops elsewhere around the country. He will celebrate public Mass at the new Nationals Park stadium in Washington and at Yankee Stadium, according to Archbishop Pietro Sambi, the Vatican ambassador to the United States.

Herbal sex pills pose hidden dangers
Many of the pills marketed as safe herbal alternatives to Viagra and other prescription sex medications pose a hidden danger: For men on common heart and blood-pressure drugs, popping one could lead to a stroke, or even death.
"All-natural" products with names like Stamina-RX and Vigor-25 promise an apothecary's delight of rare Asian ingredients, but many work because they contain unregulated versions of the very pharmaceuticals they are supposed to replace.
