Footballer Barton freed on bail
Footballer Joey Barton has been released from jail after being bailed by a judge.
The 25-year-old Newcastle United and England midfielder made no comment as he passed through the gates of Liverpool Prison into a waiting car.

Police officer 'stabbed in head'
A police dog handler is in hospital after being stabbed by a man he was trying to detain.
One eye-witness said he was stabbed in the head. Police said a number of other officers were also wounded in the incident in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Youths charged with teen's murder
Four people - including a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl - have been charged with the murder of teenager.
The body of college student Bradley Whitfield was discovered on New Year's Day.
The 16-year-old died near his home in Leicester after being attacked with what is thought to have been a piece of broken glass.

PM in pledge on blaze-hit hospital
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said the Government will do everything it can to get the Royal Marsden Hospital up and running following a devastating blaze.
Mr Brown said the "last 24 hours have seen Britain at its best" as he praised hospital and emergency workers for their actions.

Rail disruption set to ease
Travel chaos suffered by tens of thousands of rail passengers because of over-running engineering work is set to ease with the completion of a delayed project to upgrade a key London to Scotland route.
The West Coast Main Line will fully reopen at 5am on Friday after services were disrupted for four days because Network Rail (NR) did not complete the work on time.
