'U-turn' anger over mixed-sex wards
Patients groups have reacted angrily after a minister said the provision of single sex wards in hospitals was not practical.
Health minister Lord Darzi of Denham appeared to renege on Labour's 1997 manifesto promise to "work towards the elimination of mixed-sex wards".
He told peers that the Government was committed to providing single sex accommodation in hospitals, but not single sex wards.

Weather Forecasters Predict Snow And Arctic Winds
Weather forecasters are warning of snow, blizzards and freezing winds for later this week.
After a weekend where some parts of the country felt more like spring than winter, the icy cold blast could come as quite a shock.
Freezing cold air will rush in from the Arctic, bringing icy conditions for much of the country and sending the park joggers running for cover.
And that will be preceded by a howler of a day on Thursday.

Diana secrets missing, says sister
The sister of Diana, Princess of Wales entrusted a "Pandora's box" of secrets to butler Paul Burrell in the aftermath of the fatal Paris car crash, an inquest has been told.
Lady Sarah McCorquodale said its contents were given to Mr Burrell, Diana's aide, but the sensitive documents - including Diana's divorce papers - have never been seen since.

British PM urges Musharraf to ensure credible elections
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Monday told Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf that next month's elections had to be credible, insisting the country's stability was vital for South Asia.
Brown's call came as demonstrators staged angry protests against Musharraf's visit to London, at the end of a week-long trip to Europe aimed at reassuring leaders about the transparency of the delayed February 18 vote.
"Credible elections" were "essential", Brown said at a joint news conference following what he called "very productive" talks with a "key ally" in combating terrorism and extremism.

Madeleine McCann: Rory Bremner Show Cleared Over Joke
A joke about Madeleine McCann made on Rory Bremner's Channel 4 show has been cleared by TV regulators.
Dozens of viewers complained about the "inappropriate and offensive" sketch featured on Bremner, Bird And Fortune last October.
In the controversial episode, satirists John Bird and John Fortune discuss the lengths to which Prime Minister Gordon Brown would go to secure victory in the event of a snap election.
