Police halt DNA test after Omagh case
Police suspended a controversial DNA testing procedure on Friday after critical comments by the judge in the Omagh bomb trial. The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) also said a review would be carried out on any pending cases involving Low Copy DNA profiling.
Tony Lake, ACPO lead on forensics and Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, said in a statement: "We shall study the terms of the Omagh judgment carefully, consider the implications and determine whether action needs to be taken.
